Added new functionality to the Category Setup window.  To aid cleanup of any errant data, the Doctors, Dentists, Hospitals, Occupations, and City Names tabs on the Category Setup window now displays a count of the applicable records that reference this information.  This will help to clean up bad or unused data in the database.

  6. Fixed a tabbing issue on the Divisions, Teams, and Fields window.

  7. Many other updates based on user requests.

Build 406 - 10/3/2005

Build 404 - 9/21/2005

Changes in Build 404

  1. Fixed a bug reported in the Backup utility.  This only affected users where the database is NOT located in the default installation directory.  The backup utility was looking for the Player Pictures, Birth Certificate Images, and Volunteer Pictures folders in the same location as the database.  This has now been fixed and the backup utility looks for the Player Pictures, Birth Certificate Images, and Volunteer Pictures folders in the same folder where LeagueWorks is installed.

Build 401 - 8/23/2005

Changes in Build 401

  1. Modified the Active Player List and Inactive Player List (found on the League Reports and Forms selection of the Reports window) to allow the selection of players by age range.  The report now allows the user to select an Age Range for the players that are to be listed on the report.

  2. Renamed the Database Path tab of the Program Preferences window to "DB & Logo Path".  If a logo is found at the designated location, the logo will be displayed on all reports (except the Player Registration forms and Volunteer Application forms).

Build 400 - 7/3/2005

Changes in Build 400

  1. Based on user requests, the Active Player List and Inactive Player List reports (under the League Reports and Forms selection on the Reports window) have been modified with new selections.  The reports can now be selected to list the players by Name or Age, and optionally separate the reports by Gender.  If the Player Age is selected, the reports will break down the Players by Age on separate pages for each age.  A header will be displayed for each age group.  Optionally, if the gender is selected, a header row will be displayed showing the player's gender.

Please Note:  The reports will display all ages.  To print only selected ages, look for the page numbers that are needed at the top of the report.  Then in the Print Option dialog, select the Page Range that is to be printed.  This will allow the user to print a single age or a range of ages.

Build 399 - 6/27/2005

Changes in Build 399

  1. Added new "Official Division Names" to the Divisions window for Babe Ruth League and Cal Ripken Baseball.  This new option will only be displayed for organizations that have selected "Babe Ruth League" or "Cal Ripken Baseball" as their Organization Affiliation on the Program Preferences window.  The Official Division Names are used on the Official Babe Ruth League and Cal Ripken Baseball Roster forms to display and select the Proper Division on the upper right corner of the roster.

  2. Modified the Babe Ruth League and Cal Ripken Baseball roster forms to utilize the new Official Division Names on the Divisions/Teams/Fields window.

  3. Added the Official Babe Ruth League and Cal Ripken Baseball Tournament Rosters to the Reports window.  The new Tournament Roster forms can be found on the "League Reports and Forms" selection of the Reports window.

  4. Added the ability on the Divisions/Teams/Fields window to add players to Tournament Teams.  Now, you can select the Division and Team that you would like to work with on the Divisions/Teams/Fields window, go to the Player/Team Assignment tab, select whether the team you are working with is a "League Team" or "Tournament Team" and place players on the team.  The players will then be added to the team as selected.

Build 397 - 6/12/2005

Build 396 - 6/10/2005

Changes in Build 396

  1. Fixed a bug reported in the Player by Division/Team report and the Team Rosters report.  Under certain circumstances, the Coach information for the team was not displaying properly.  This has now been fixed and all Manager/Coach and Team Parent information is displayed properly.

Build 395 - 5/22/2005

Changes in Build 395

  1. Modified the Uniform reports to include information for the Tournament teams.  All Team uniform reports now include the tournament team uniform information.  The Division level summary reports have not been modified as this could cause the wrong numbers to be generated for the Division level reports.

Build 394 - 5/14/2005

Changes in Build 394

  1. Added a new report on the "League Reports and Forms" selection of the Reports window.  The new report provides a player count by City.

Build 393 - 4/26/2005

Changes in Build 393

  1. Fixed a problem found in the uniform reports.  The program was not checking the Active and Deleted flags properly in the database.  This could result in improper numbers for uniforms being calculated.  The problem has now been fixed.

  2. Added a drop down list box to the Player, Volunteer, and Sponsor registrations so that the City can now be selected from a list of cities rather than requiring the user to enter the city every time.

Build 392 - 3/22/2005

Changes in Build 392

  1. Fixed a problem found in the merge process that was causing the date and time stamp on the player records to be updated incorrectly.

Build 391 - 3/21/2005

Changes in Build 391

  1. Fixed a problem found in the merge process for Doctors and Dentists.

  2. Added a second Default Player Age Cutoff Month and Day to the Setup and Defaults tab of the Program Preferences window.  A separate Default Player Age Cutoff Month and Day can now be defined for both Male and Female players.

  3. Fixed a problem where a name with multiple hyphens was not handled properly on the Player Registration window and in some reports.

  4. New update for those organizations with multiple people entering data on multiple computers.  The Merge process now will optionally create a "Player Merge Reconciliation Report".  The report will display a summary of the records processed, including the number of records processed, number of records added, number of records updated, and number or records skipped and the reason why.  The report also generates a detail listing of each player record processed.  This will allow a reconciliation of every transaction that occurred (or did not occur) during the player merge.

  5. Added the Division/Team information to the Single Volunteer, Volunteer by Division, Volunteer by Division/Team, and Volunteer by Category reports in the "Players Associated with Volunteer" section.  If the Player is assigned to a Division and Team, the Division/Team will be displayed below the players name.  If the player has not been assigned to a Division or Team, "(None)" is displayed for the Division and/or Team.

  6. A problem was reported where the Volunteer Custom Fields were not always being cleared properly when a Parent/Guardian was added as a Volunteer by marking "Yes" to the Volunteer box on the Parent Info. tab of the Player Registration window.  This has now been fixed.

  7. A problem was also reported where volunteer positions were being associated with the wrong players on the Volunteer Registration tab of the Player/Volunteer/Sponsor registration window.  This has now been fixed.

  8. Added the ability to place a player on a "Tournament Team" or second team.  This will come in handy for tournament or travel teams.  Please note, the majority of the reports use the "League Team" as the primary team.  The League Team is considered to be the primary team and the Tournament Team is the secondary team.  Players can only be placed on tournament teams on the Player Registration window -- the Divisions/Teams window will only allow the placement of players on the primary League Team.  The reports also consider the League Team to be the primary team, although, all Team reports where a roster is involved will display the rosters with both the League Team and the Tournament team.  Divisions and Teams are still formed the same way, for example, a "Tournament Team" division can be created and Teams defined within the division.  The Player can then be placed on one of the Tournament teams on the Player Registration window.

  9. Enhanced Backup and Restore Utility has been added.  The Player Pictures, Birth Certificates, and Volunteer Pictures are now options on the Backup and Restore.  When a backup is being performed, please make sure to Backup the Database, Player Pictures, Birth Certificate Images, and Volunteer Pictures in separate files.  The Backup utility will prompt the user with suggested names.

  10. Modified the Phone Number fields so that if a Players Phone number changes, the change will also be made to Parents phone numbers that match, and the program will also check volunteers to see if their phone number matches and will change it as needed.

  11. The Sponsor tab on the Player/Volunteer/Sponsor registration window has been completely reworked.  The previous pledges have been removed and new Email Address and Active flag fields have been added.  You can now mark the sponsors active or inactive for the current year.  Only Active sponsors will be displayed in the drop down list boxes on the Team Sponsor selection of the Divisions/Teams window.  The New Season window has also been updated with an option to Mark All Sponsors Inactive.

  12. The Automated Player draft has been modified so that you can perform an automated player draft with players already assigned to teams.  The automated draft will still attempt to balance the teams as much as possible (as was done before) based on Player Ratings and Player Age.  This will come in handy for organizations that allow the coach to hand pick a few players before the draft.  This can also be used after the draft is complete to add new players to teams.

  13. The reports have been modified to include the new Tournament Teams option from the player registration window.  If a division is created specifically for Tournament or Travel teams, team rosters can be generated for these teams.

  14. A new option has been added to the Player Evaluation Reports so that optionally, Player Evaluation reports can be generated only for players that are not already assigned to a team.

  15. A new option has been added for the Volunteer ID cards.  When the "Volunteer ID Cards" report is selected from the Volunteer reports, the user will be able to select "All Volunteers" or a single volunteer.  If "All Volunteers" is selected, the user will be prompted for "Active", "Inactive", or "All Volunteers (Active and Inactive)".

  16. Many other behind the scenes and reports enhancements have also been added.

Changes in Build 330

  1. Fixed a bug in the File Export Utility for the AFTF export, the Player fields export, and the Volunteer fields export.  A few of the fields could contain a carriage return and line feed character.  This caused the export to think that a new line was being processed, and thus would not submit the data file properly to the Little League Data Center, or import properly into Excel.  The export formats now parse all fields that could contain this character and replaces the carriage return and line feed character with a space.

  3. Many new exports have been included for Email Addresses, Players, and Volunteer information.  The Email Address Export options can be used to copy and paste the email addresses right into your favorite email package.  The Player and Volunteer exports will output all of the Player and Volunteer data.  The data can then be imported into Excel (or any other program that supports Comma Separated Value (CSV) output) and you can then create your own custom reports!

  2. An export format has also been included in the File Export utility on the Reports window for Players.  The output allows you to select by Division and also if you would like All players, or Active or Inactive players only.  The Comma Separated Value (CSV) file output can be imported directly into Microsoft Excel -- you can now select the data you want within Excel and create your own custom reports!  Stay tuned - more report format outputs will be available soon!

  1. Added a new option for the Tryout Reports (which can be found under the Ability Ratings selection on the Reports window).  The new option allows the selection of a Tryout Report sorted by Player Age Only.  This report is sorted by the actual age of the player.  The age is calculated based on the Player's birth date and the Current Season Year (which is defined on the Setup and Defaults tab of the Program Preferences window).

  2. Added text with the other Tryout Report options that denotes that the reports are sorted by Division first, then Last Name, Tryout Number, or Player Age (based on the selection).  For the report sorted by Division/Player Age, the age is calculated based on the Age Cutoff Month and Day (and Current Season Year) that is defined at the Division level if the player is assigned to a Division.  If the Player is not assigned to a Division, the age is calculated based on the Default Cutoff Month and Day (and the Current Season Year) defined on the Setup and Defaults tab of the Program Preferences window.

Changes in Build 317

  1. Fixed a bug reported in the Team/Coach assignments.  When assigning coaches to teams, the lists were displaying Volunteers that were not marked as Active.  When one of the inactive Volunteers was selected, the record would not display as an assigned Coach or Team Parent.  The Coach/Team Parent volunteers are now only displayed if they are marked Active.

Changes in Build 311

  1. Players can now automatically be assigned to Divisions based on Age or School Grade.  LeagueWorks has added a selection on the Program Preferences window for Automatic Player/Division assignment based on Age or Grade.  There are multiple selections for each, based on how you would like to assign players to Divisions -- "Unlimited" (the player can play in any Division), "Play Up" (the player can play in any division at or above the Age or Grade), and "Strict" (the player can only be assigned to the Division that corresponds to their Age or Grade).  LeagueWorks utilizes new parameters on the Division window to make the assignments (see below).

  2. Added automated Division Assignment for Players.  Now, when a Player is added or marked as Active, LeagueWorks will attempt to automatically assign the Player to the proper Division, based on the selections made in the Program Preferences window.

  3. Added Minimum Grade and Maximum Grade to the Division window.  This is utilized in the Automated Player/Division assignment.

  4. Added the ability to modify the Player Rating Labels.  Now you can set the Player Rating Labels to whatever you desire.

  5. Modified the Ability Rating reports to use the User Defined Player Ability Rating labels.

  6. Added a new Tryout Report.  LeagueWorks can now generate a report that can be used for Player tryouts.  The report allows you to rate the players at the tryout and make comments.  The Ratings can then easily be entered into LeagueWorks for later reference.  The Tryout Report can be found in the Ability Ratings section of the Reports window.

  7. Added a new Balance Due invoice.  LeagueWorks will now generate a Balance Due invoice that can be used to collect fees.

Build 304 - 10/4/2002

Changes in Build 304

  1. Fixed a bug found in the Volunteer Email List report.

Build 303 - 10/1/2002

Changes in Build 303

  1. Added Player Invoice.  Now an invoice can be generated for all Player Fees.

  2. Modified the Team Roster report to increase the field sizes and add more information to the report.

  3. Made changes to enhance the file transfer capabilities between LeagueWorks and Diamond Scheduler.  LeagueWorks will now handle Multiple Divisions within the schedule.  See the FAQ's for more information.

  4. New report for players that have not turned in Birth Certificates.

  5. Added the ability to create mailing labels for Individual Teams.

  6. Increased the size on Mailing Label formats to 12 point fonts.

  7. Added new options to the Family mailing labels to select "All", "Active Only", or "Inactive Only" Family Labels.

  8. Changed the How Fee Paid field to accept up to 15 characters output.

  9. Add Player Grade to the Division window for those users that create Divisions and Teams by Grade level.

  10. Added a new Player by Grade report.

  11. Add a new mailing label option for mailing labels by Grades.

  12. Many other "behind the scenes" enhancements!!

Build 300 - 5/3/2002

Changes in Build 300

  1. Added the Official Babe Ruth Roster form to the League Reports and Forms section of the reports.

  2. Increased the size of the fonts on the Mailing Labels.

Build 298 - 4/14/2002

Changes in Build 298

  1. Added an Automatic Player/Team Assignment feature.  Players can now be placed on teams automatically.  LeagueWorks attempts to balance the teams as much as possible based on Player Age and Player Ability Ratings.  Please see the FAQ on how the Players are assigned to teams for more information.

  2. Added additional checks in Player and Volunteer Merge routines.  With the previous Player and Volunteer merge routines it was possible that duplicate players would be added to the database.  For the Player, LeagueWorks uses the Player First Name, Last Name, and Birth Date to match records (the Volunteer routine uses the Volunteer First Name, Last Name, and Home Phone Number).  Previously, if a Player's Birth Date was changed, then merged into the local database, LeagueWorks would not find a match in the local database because the Birth Date had changed.  So, LeagueWorks would add a new record to the local database that would be a duplicate, only with a different Birth Date (and the same happened on the Volunteers if the Home Phone Number was changed).  Now, LeagueWorks performs an additional check so that if a Player Birth Date or Volunteer Home Phone Number changes, duplicate records will not be added to the local database.  Instead, the existing record will be updated properly.

  3. Renamed the Balance/Refund Due reports to "Fee Reports" and added a new Sponsor Fee Report.  This report lists the Sponsors, Contact Names and Phone Numbers, Amount Pledged, Amount Paid, Balance/Refund Due, and the Sponsor comments.

  4. Added a new Team Schedule with Roster Report.  This report displays the Team Schedule and Roster Names on the report.  For security purposes (if the report is to be posted on a website), the Roster Names only include the Players Name.

  5. Added the Babe Ruth League Standard Medical Release Form for organizations that are associated with Babe Ruth League.

  6. Fixed a bug in the Player Age Calculation.  This problem only occurred for users in Canada or locales where the standard date format is dd/mm/yy (day/month/year).  The Player Age calculation now takes into account different date formats.

  7. Fixed a bug in the Mailing Label by Age report where deleted player records were being displayed on the mailing labels.  The mailing labels now do not include any records that are marked as deleted.

  8. Fixed a bug in the Player Email Reports where duplicate email addresses were being displayed where they should not have been.

Build 294 - 3/26/2002

Changes in Build 294

  1. Fixed a bug that was introduced in build 293.  The problem occurred when a Coach, Assistant Coach, or Team Parent was being added to the Coach/Team Parent information tab of the Divisions, Teams, and Fields window.

Build 293 - 3/25/2002

Changes in Build 293

  1. Fixed a problem that was identified on the Reports window.  The sort options for the Inactive Player report were not being displayed properly.

  2. Added new menu selections on the "Enter Game Results and Edit Schedules" window to allow the deletion of schedules.  There are two new menu options under the tools menu to "Delete All Division Schedules" or "Delete Current Division Schedule Only".  The Delete All Division Schedules option deletes All schedules for All Divisions.  The Delete Current Division Schedule Only option deletes the currently displayed Divisions schedule only -- all other Division schedules will remain intact.

  3. Added a new option on the "New Season" window to "Delete All Schedules".  This option will delete all schedules within LeagueWorks.  Please Note:  If the "Delete All Divisions" or "Delete All Teams within each Division" options are selected, Deletion of the Schedules is mandatory and the checkbox for "Delete All Schedules" will automatically be checked.  Also the "Delete All Schedules" checkbox cannot be unchecked while either the "Delete All Divisions", or "Delete All Teams within each Division" items are checked.

Build 292 - 3/24/2002

Changes in Build 292

  1. Added new report - "Team Coach List/Player Count" under the Divisions report selection.  This report lists each teams coaches within each Division and also the number of players that are currently assigned to the team.  The report also displays the number of players within each Division that are not currently assigned to a team.

  2. Added New Report - "Team Schedule with Roster" under the Schedules report selection.  This report shows each teams schedule and also lists that players on each team.  This is a good report that can be posted directly to a website as the roster only displays the players name - no other personal information is displayed.

  3. Fixed a problem that was reported with the Schedule reports.  In certain instances, games that had been deleted on the game schedule were being displayed on the schedule reports.  This only occurred if games were manually deleted from the game schedule within LeagueWorks.  The problem did not occur if a game schedule was imported from Diamond Scheduler.

  4. Fixed a problem on the Divisions Standings window where deleted teams were being displayed in the Division Standings.

  5. Fixed a problem on the Uniform Report "Pants/Shirts Summary by Division" where deleted Divisions were being displayed on the report.

Build 286 - 2/28/2002

Changes in Build 286

  1. A problem was reported with the Volunteer merge.  Occasionally, the Date Stamp and Time Stamp on the records was not being compared properly.  The problem has now been fixed and all volunteer records are merged properly.

Build 285 - 2/19/2002

Changes in Build 285

  1. Added a new Player by Division report per user request.  The report is the Player by Division (Sorted by Team) report.  This report is similar to the Player by Division report, except the Players are sorted first by Division, then by team, then by player name within each team, rather than the Player by Division report which sorts by Player Name within each Division.

  2. Added many new Equipment Reports.  The reports include Equipment Item and Equipment Inventory Lists (sorted by Equipment Item and sorted by Vendor), and also Equipment Assignment reports.  The Equipment Assignment Reports include Assignment to Player, Assignment to Volunteer, Assignment to Division, and Assignment to Team.  The Equipment Assignment to Division and Equipment Assignment to Team reports denote equipment that is assigned to a Division or Team -- not necessarily assigned to a single person.

  3. Added a Sort by Zip/Postal code capability to the Mailing label reports.  By checking the Sort by Zip/Postal Code check box on the Mailing Label reports, the output will be sorted first on Zip/Postal Code, and second on Player/Volunteer/Sponsor name (depending on the mailing labels being generated).

  4. Fixed a reported problem pertaining to the Volunteer Position requests.  The problem was that some Volunteers were being associated with the wrong players.  The problem was traced to the Merge process and has now been fixed.  Please note, this problem only pertains to those users that have associated Volunteers with Players and have also used the Merge process to merge multiple databases.  If the Merge process has not been used, then your data has not been affected by the problem.

  5. A new item has been added to the Player Registration window, under the Data menu to validate the Volunteer/Player assignments because of the previous bug.  The new selection is to "Validate Volunteer Assignments" and will Validate the Volunteers that have been associated with a Player.  Please note, this option will delete any Player/Volunteer associations if they cannot be matched properly in the database, so it is possible that some Player/Volunteer associations could be deleted.  This option is in response to the bug found in number 4, so if you have not used the Merge process, your data has not been affected by the bug and this option will NOT delete any Player/Volunteer associations.

  6. Fixed a reported problem where the merge process displayed an error when trying to merge the Volunteer Team Assignments.  The problem was the merge was inadvertently trying to add a duplicate record and was displaying an error message.  The problem has now been fixed and all Volunteer Team Assignments will merge properly.  This problem was only reported by one user, and does not corrupt any data.  So, anyone that has used the merge process and has not seen an error message when the Merge process performs the Team Volunteer Merge is not affected by this problem.

  7. Previously, the database path was displayed at the top of every window.  Now, per request, the database path is only displayed on the Startup window.  The other windows now display their title and function.

  8. We have received many more requests for report changes and they are in the works, please watch for more updates coming soon.

Build 283 - 2/1/2002

Changes in Build 283

  1. Added the ability to change a players team directly on the Player Registration window.  This enables easy player movement from team to team.  This will also save time during team assignments.

  2. Added new options to the New Season window to delete the various player fees.

  3. Added the ability to move a team from one division to another.  This function allows a complete team to be moved, including players, volunteers (coaches and team parents), and sponsors.

  4. Added a Player and Volunteer Email Address List reports.

  5. Added a few other new reports based on user requests.

  6. Fixed a problem on installation where some users were receiving an "OLE files are in use.  Please Reboot..." message, and when the computer was rebooted, the install would loop into the same error message.  The installation software has been upgraded and all LeagueWorks installations have been verified to work on all versions of Windows.

Build 276 - 1/5/2002

Changes in Build 276

  1. Removed a "Save" button that was erroneously placed on the toolbar near the top of the Player/Volunteer/Sponsor Registration window.  This "Save" button actually did nothing - it did NOT save any data that was entered.  Until this update is downloaded and installed, please make sure to use the "Save" button near the bottom of the window - the "Save" button at the bottom of the window does work!

Build 275 - 12/30/2001

Changes in Build 275

  1. Fixed a problem where some header fields were not following through on all reports.  For example, on some reports, if both the Division Name and Team Name were being displayed on the report, sometimes the Division Name would not be repeated on all pages of the report.  This has been fixed - the Division Name is now displayed on every page.

  2. Added a "View Order" to the Uniform (Pants and Shirts field) on the Uniform tab of the Category Setup window.  This allows a user configurable sort order for all of the Uniform Sizes displayed on the Player Registration window, Category Setup window, and Reports.  What was the problem?  If Uniform Sizes were added or deleted from the Uniform Lists, the order in which the sizes were displayed on the windows and reports was not the order in which they should have been displayed (for example, from smallest to largest).  This is now user configurable so the Uniform Sizes are displayed in the order desired.

  3. Added the user configurable sort order to the Player Registration forms.  The Player Registration Forms now use the "View Order" set on the Uniform Sizes tab of the Category Setup window.  Previously, the Uniform sizes were not configurable on the Registration forms.  Now, the Uniform Sizes on the Registration Forms are driven by the data values in the database.  Users can now add and delete Uniform Sizes and set the order in which they are to be displayed on the Registration Forms.

  4. Added new Address and Contact Information to the School Names tab of the Category Setup window.

  5. Added counts on many of the reports.  For example, the Team Roster report now displays a Player Count at the end of each teams report, the Schedule Reports now display a count of the number of games scheduled on each of the reports, and the School reports now display a count of the number of players for each school.

  6. Added an Unassigned Player report that is sorted by School Name.

  7. Fixed a problem on the Unassigned Player Reports where the report was only displaying Player Names if they had been assigned to a Division.  Now the report also displays the Players that are marked Active and not assigned to a Division.

  8. Added two new report output formats.  Reports can now be output in a Text format and a TIFF Image format in addition to the Print, Print Preview, PDF, RTF, HTML, and Excel formats.

  9. Renamed the Unassigned Player report to "Players Not Assigned to a Team".

Build 267 - 12/2/2001

Changes in Build 267

  1. Added a Program Preferences button to the main Startup window.  Now the Registration information, Program Defaults, Custom Field Labels, and Database Path are easily accessible from the Startup window.

  2. Added Address information and Contact Name to the School information on the Category Setup window.

  3. Added a new School category to the Reports.  There are four new reports under the School category on the Reports window.  The first is a School List report that displays all the school information in a list format.  The second School report lists all players that attend each School.  The Third report expands on the Player by School report and breaks down the information by division -- the report displays each division and lists the players from each school within that division.  The final report is a School Registration Summary.  The report shows the number of players from each school.

  4. Added Player Counts to the Team Roster Reports.

  5. Enhanced the Backup and Restore functionality to make both functions more robust.

Changes in Build 260

  1. Added a new Default Area Code for Player and Volunteer Registrations.

  2. Added Defaults to the Volunteer Registration.  The Defaults now apply when adding a new Volunteer record.

  3. Added School and Amount Paid to the Divisions Team Info report under the Team Reports selection.

  4. Added a new report that sorts the Team Roster by Age.

  5. Fixed a problem with the Default Date Format not handling the Month properly.  This problem only occurred the first time LeagueWorks was run and the Default Date Format was not specified.

Changes in Build 258

  1. Fixed a problem that occurred when a Parent was marked as a volunteer on the Player Registration window and a Work Phone number was not entered.  The popup Volunteer Registration window was displaying an error.

Changes in Build 256

  1. Added a feature to allow the selection of the Date Format.  LeagueWorks now allows the selection of the format for all dates on forms and reports.  The Date Format can be found on the Program Preferences screen.

  2. Added a feature to select the location of the LeagueWorks data file.  You can now select the location of your data file on the Program Preferences screen.  This will allow you to open archived backups, or if LeagueWorks is being used on a network, it will allow you to select the location of the data file on a network server.

  3. Modified the heading on each window so the location of the current working data file is displayed at the top of the window.

  4. Added Work and Mobile phone numbers to the Parents information on the Player Registration window.

  5. Added the Parents Work and Mobile phone numbers to various reports within LeagueWorks.

  6. Added enhanced data integrity rules when renaming and adding new Players and Volunteers.  Now, if a players name and/or birth date is changed, LeagueWorks provides better controls on how you would like to handle the change.  The same procedures were added to a change in the Volunteer Name and/or Home Phone Number.

  7. Added a new Player Registration form that allows the selection of only the "Active" players for a season.  This, in addition to the ability to select your LeagueWorks data file location, will allow you to keep archives of previous seasons data, open the archived file and print registrations only for the "Active" players during that season.

Changes in Build 231

  1. A problem was found where if a Team was deleted from a Division, then a new Team was added with the same name (and in the same Division), a duplicate Team record was being created.  The update fixes the problem so that if a deleted Team record (with the same Team Name and within the same Division) is found, then the deleted record is undeleted and updated with the new information.

  2. New updates to the Equipment screens.  It is now easier to assign equipment.  The window displays the number of items of equipment along with the number of items that are available for distribution.

Changes in Build 228

  1. An error was found in the Player Registration Form.  The organization name was not being displayed properly in the "Refusal of Consent" portion of the form.

Changes in Build 227

  1. An error was found in the Merge process that could potentially create duplicate Division records.  This update fixes the merge process so no duplicate records are created.

Changes in Build 226

  1. Added new Player Registration Forms.  LeagueWorks will now print Player Registration forms.  The forms can be printed for all players, individual players, or a blank registration form for mailing.  The Player Registration Forms can be found on the Reports window, under the "League Reports and Forms" selection.

  2. Added more information to many reports.  Many LeagueWorks Reports have been expanded to include much more data.

  3. Added the Player Jersey Number to the Equipment Assignment window.  You can now enter a Jersey Number on the Player Equipment Assignment and the Jersey Number is automatically updated on the Player Registration.

Changes in Build 222

  1. Added a new Age Exception report.  After entering a Minimum and Maximum Age for each Division, the report will calculate the ages of each player and display a list of players for each Division that do not fall within the Minimum and Maximum Age range for the Division.  The new report can be found under the "Player" Report Selection.  HINT:  To show only players that are too old for each Division, enter a minimum age of 0.  To show only the players that are too young for each Division, enter a maximum age of 99.

  2. Fixed a problem found in the Merge process where not all of the Ability Ratings were being merged into the database.  The error occurred only if a Player or Volunteer was deleted from the database and the database was then "Compacted" to remove all records marked for Deletion.

  3. Fixed a problem where a Player or Volunteer was deleted and the corresponding Ability Rating was not deleted.

  4. Fixed a database error that occurred if a Volunteer was assigned to more than one Volunteer Position on a Team.  For example, if an Assistant Coach was also assigned as a Team Parent on the same team, the database reported a "Duplicate Key" error.  You can now assign any Volunteer to multiple positions on a team.

Changes in Build 219

  1. Fixed a problem found while entering Team Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Team Parents on the Coach/Team Parent Information tab of the Divisions/Teams window.  The error displayed was "The changes you requested to the table were not successful because they would create duplicate values in the index, primary key, or relationship..."  The problem pertained to old records that were in the database from a previous season.  LeagueWorks now searches for old records and updates the old record (if one is found) before trying to add a new record to the Team Volunteer table.

  2. Modified the Merge function so that the processing is similar to above -- when a Coach, Assistant Coach, or Team Parent information for a team is being merged into the local database, the program searches for old records before trying to add a new record to the Team Volunteer table..

  3. Added the Jersey Number to the Team Roster and to the Team Uniform Reports (the "Uniform Sizes - All Teams" and "Uniform Sizes by Team" reports).

  4. Fixed the "Player By School" report where the last page was incorrectly showing the School Name header as being "No School Name Assigned".

Changes in Build 216

  1. Fixed a problem that appeared when trying to add Volunteer/Player associations and Volunteer Assignment requests to an empty database table.

Changes in Build 215

  1. Added "Team Fee" Report under the Refund/Balance Due category.  This report displays the amount being charged to a team and the amount that the team has paid.  These values are retrieved from the "Team Fee" and "Fee Paid" fields on the Team window.  A team will only be displayed in the report if the "Team Fee" field (on the Team window) has a dollar amount other than $0.00.  This report is useful for teams that are possibly external to an organization and are charged a fee to play within the organization.

  2. Added "Pants/Shirts Summary by Division" report under the Uniforms category.  This report displays a summary of the shirt and pants sizes requested for each division.  This could help in ordering uniforms, especially if you order different uniforms for each division.

  3. Fixed a problem on the Player Registration window where the Per Player Fee, Fund Raiser Donation, and Amt. Paid fields were not always saving the value that was entered.

Changes in Build 212

  1. Added more options to the mailing labels.  You can now select All Player Registrations, Active Player Registrations, or Inactive Player Registrations when selecting the Age Range option for the Player Mailing Labels.

  2. Fixed a problem on the Player/Team Assignments window where a Player that is marked as Inactive was inadvertently being displayed in the Assigned Player List.  Also fixed the Team Reports so that when a player is marked as Inactive, they will not be displayed in the reports.

Changes in Build 211

  1. A problem was found where a Player's Age was being displayed properly on the Player Registration screen, but it was not always being saved correctly in the database field.  The problem has been fixed and the Player Age is now saved in the database correctly.

  2. Added a new "Recalculate Player Ages" menu item to the Tools menu on the Player Registration screen.  This menu selection will traverse the Player Registration records and recalculate the Player's Age on each record.  The Player's Age will then be saved in the appropriate field in the LeagueWorks database.

Changes in Build 210

  1. Modified the Player Reports (By Division and Not Assigned To A Team reports) so that players that are not assigned to a Division are now displayed in the report.  Previously, only the players that were assigned to a Division were displayed in the Reports.

  2. Added a Gender field to the Popup Volunteer info window.

  3. Added an Average Rating Field to the Player Ability Reports.  This field is calculated as the average of all Ability Ratings for the Player.  Fields that are not rated are not included in the calculation.  This provides a true Average Rating for each of the players.

  4. Added New Mailing Label options.  For the Player Mailing Labels you can now select from the following options:  1.  All Registered Players (all active players), 2.  All Unregistered Players (all inactive players), 3.  Family Labels (prints one label per family instead of a label for each individual in the database), and 4.  By Age Range (you can specify an Age Range for the Player Registrations).   There are also new options for the Volunteer Mailing Labels and the Sponsor Mailing Labels.

  5. Modified the Player/Team Assignments window to include the Average Player Rating field in the Unassigned Player List and Assigned Player List.  Also added a Team Average Rating field to the window.  The Team Average Rating displays the calculated Average Ability Rating for the team, based on the Player Ratings assigned to the individuals on the team.

  6. Added an Age Field to the Registration table.  The field is still calculated on the Player Registration Window as it was before, but the field is now added to the database for those that would like to perform their own queries on the LeagueWorks database.  The age is calculated as before (based on a default date, or the age cutoff date for the Division they are assigned to), and is recalculated and updated in the database anytime the Player Record is modified.

  7. Added a new Clean Up option to the Data Utilities Window (formerly the Backup and Restore button on the Startup Window).  The Compact Data option deletes all records from the LeagueWorks database that are marked for deletion and compresses the data in the database to take up less disk space.

Changes in Build 207

  1. Added two new reports.  An Active Player List report and an Inactive Player List report were added.  The two new reports can be found in the League Summary Rpts. section.

  2. Changed the Age Calculation for the Player Registration Window and all reports where the age is displayed.  The Age is now calculated based on the following criteria.  First, if the player is assigned to a division, the age is calculated based on the Division Age Cutoff Month and Day.  If the player is not assigned to a Division, or the Division Age Cutoff Month and Day for a Division are not set, then the age is calculated based on the Default Age Cutoff Month and Day.  If the Default Age Cutoff Month and Day are not set, then the age is calculated base on the date of January 1.  All age calculations use the New Season Year to base the age calculations.

  3. Cleaned up report formats where some fields were wrapping around on the label.  Also, some of the reports had an Birth Date field that was too small to display a four digit year.  This has now been corrected - the Birth Date can now show a four digit year and will not wrap around to a second line.

  4. Added new capabilities to the New Season window.  The following selections were added:  Remove Player Comments, Delete All Volunteers, Reset Team Coaches and Team Parents, and Reset Team/Sponsor Assignments.  The Remove Player Comments selection will remove all Comments from the Player Registration Record.  The Delete All Volunteers will automatically delete all volunteers, remove all Volunteer/Player Associations, remove all Volunteer Positions Requested, remove all Volunteer Certifications, remove all Volunteer Ability Ratings, and also reset all Parent Volunteer selections to "No" on the Player Registration records.  The Reset Team Coaches and Team Parents will automatically remove all Coaches and Team Parents assigned to each team.  The Reset Team/Sponsor Assignments will remove the Sponsor assigned to each team.

Changes in Build 203 - The Merge Capability has finally been added!!

  1. Fixed a problem in the Merge where some players were not being added to the correct team.  Also fixed a problem where some teams were not being merged properly.

  2. Fixed a problem in the Player/Team Assignment window where not all players were being displayed properly in the Unassigned Players List.

  3. Removed the Page Footers from all reports.  This makes it easier to produce an HTML file that can be added directly to a web page.  It also slightly increases report print speed.

  4. Added an "Average Rating" field to the Player Ratings window.  The Average Rating shows the Average of all Ratings for a player where a rating has been assigned.  What does this mean?  If a player is rated only in the areas of Pitching, Catching, and Throwing, for example, the Average Rating field will now show an Average of those three ratings -- it will not average in any fields that are "Not Rated".

Changes in Build 201 - The Merge Capability has finally been added!!

  1. The Merge capability has now been added.  You can now merge LeagueWorks data files from multiple machines into one database.  Please Note:  To perform the merge, all LeagueWorks users within your organization must be running the same version of LeagueWorks.  Please make sure that all users upgrade to the latest version of LeagueWorks before merging data.

  2. Added several new Report Output Destinations.  You can now output reports to a HTML file or an Excel Spreadsheet file in addition to Printing, Print Preview, Rich Text Format (RTF) Files, and Portable Document File (PDF) formats.  The HTML format will allow the capability to output reports and then add them directly to Web Pages!!

  3. Added a new report capability to Print All Player Registrations.  This could come in handy at registration time -- just print the Player Reports and have the users verify and update any new information on the form.

Changes in Build 194 - Lots of New Things!!

  1. Lots of new fields were added to the Player Registration tabs and Division/Team window.

  2. Volunteer registration.  It is now much easier to associate Players to a Volunteer.  You can associate Players and assign volunteer assignments to a volunteer for that player.  The volunteer assignments will then be displayed in the Volunteer reports.  This makes it much easier to find out who has volunteered for what volunteer positions on a team.

  3. New report outputs.  You can now output reports in Portable Document File (PDF) and Rich Text Format (RTF).  This makes it much easier to generate reports and email them to whomever needs them.  The PDF file format can be displayed (and printed) with the free Adobe Acrobat Reader at http://www.acrobat.com, and the RTF file format is supported in most word processors.

  4. Finally added a help file!!  The Help menu buttons will now display the LeagueWorks help file.  You can display the help contents or search for help on a subject.

  5. Added two new fields to the Program Preferences selection (formerly Program Options).  You can now associate your League with one of the many different Affiliations around the country (i.e. Little League Baseball, Dixie Youth Baseball, etc.).  This feature will be expanded on in the near future with Official Registration forms and other content.

  6. Added Custom Fields to the Player Registrations and Volunteer registrations.  You can now track information for each player or volunteer that is not currently in the LeagueWorks database.  For example, a players favorite position, favorite team, or a volunteers cellular phone number, or pager and pin number.  The labels for the fields can be customized to anything you need on the Program Preferences window.  Once you define the custom field labels on the Program Preferences window, the labels will appear on the Custom Fields tab of the Player and Volunteer registration windows.

  7. Added a feature on the Player Team Assignments so that all active players that are not assigned to a division will be displayed in the Unassigned Players list.  Once the player is assigned to a team, the Players Registration is automatically updated with the Division and Team that they have been assigned to.

  8. Added the Age Cutoff back into the Program Preferences window.  You can now designate  a default Age Cutoff Month and Day for all divisions.  The default age cutoff month and day will be used when adding new Divisions, but the month and day can be overridden on the Divisions screen.  This allows you to have the best of both worlds!!  A default month and day for all new divisions, and an override value for each divsion for that division or divisions that use an age cutoff date other than your default value.  The Age calculation on the Player Registration window and all reports will then use the month and day that are associated with each division (whether it be the default or the overridden values).

  9. All required fields are displayed with Bold text and an asterisk on each of the windows.

  10. Lots more features coming -- let us know what you would like to see added to the program and keep those e-mails coming!!

Changes in Build 186

  1. Added a new feature to the Volunteer tab of the registration screen.  You can now see a list of players that are associated with a volunteer.  Click on a player, and it will automatically select that player in the associated player list and show you what that person has volunteered for with that player.

Changes in Build 178

  1. LeagueWorks is now internationalized for use in Canada -- Added Postal Code and Country Code fields to all windows and reports.

  2. Added capability to edit Schedules -- users can now modify existing schedules and hand enter schedules.  LeagueWorks still works best with Diamond Scheduler, but you can now modify an existing schedule after it has been imported from Diamond Scheduler, or enter your own schedule.

  3. Moved the default Age Cutoff and the Default Registration Fee to the division level.  Each division can now have its own age cutoff and registration fee.  If an age cutoff date is not entered, the program uses the calendar year (January 1) for the age calculation.  NOTE:  Don't forget to set your age cutoff dates on the Division window, otherwise, January 1 will be used for all age calculations.

  4. Added new reports -- based on user requests, several new reports have been added, including a Player Age Report, and a Sponsor List report.

  5. Modified all reports for the new postal code and age calculation based on the age cutoff date specified at the division level.

  7. Final database tables modifications were added for the merge capability (the actual merge code is still in development).

  2. Cleaned up a few report layouts (alignment of columns, added phone numbers, etc).

  3. Relaxed the restrictions on the Diamond Scheduler Import.  LeagueWorks previously required that all fields (Game Time, Date, Field, Division, Home Team, Visitors Team) be imported into LeagueWorks.  You can now import into LeagueWorks without the Field, Home Team, and Visitors team, if desired.

  4. Added "Positions Played" to the ability ratings and reworked the Ability Ratings reports to display the Positions Played along with the Ability Ratings.  The Player Ability Ratings report also displays any Player comments below the Ability Ratings.

  5. Revised the edit and save routines of most windows to fix a problem found when trying to enter data.  An erroneous error message was being displayed.

Changes in Build 155

  1. Changed the Fees Boxes on the Player Registration Screen.  The Fees now assume that if a fee is entered, that fee is to be paid.

  2. Added a Balance Due/Refund Due box to the Player Registration Screen.  A Balance Due or Refund Due is now calculated based on the Amount Paid entry minus the total of the League Fee + Fund Raiser Fee + Other Fees.

  3. Removed the Fund Raiser Fee Paid and Other Fees Paid check boxes from the Player Registration Window.

  5. Added Other Fees, Player Comments, School Information, Emergency Phone, and Hospital Preference fields to the Player Registration window and the Player Reports.

  6. Added the Player Ability Rating and Team Ability Rating Average to the Player/Team Assignment window.  Now you can see what each player is rated as when they are assigned to a team.  A Team Rating Average is also displayed as you add Players to a team.

  7. Reformatted the Ability Ratings Reports to be more user friendly (and use less paper)!

Build 149 - 2/19/2000

  1. Added some code to insure that the exports to Diamond Scheduler did not include any special characters that could create problems.

  2. Removed data input restrictions on many fields that were not being exported to Diamond Scheduler.

  3. Fixed a problem found when no Default fees were entered.

  1. Based on user requests, added a third tab to the Player Registration window and many new fields to the various tabs.

  2. Added an occupation field to the Volunteer Registration form.

Added three new tabs to the Utilities window.  The first new tab is for School Name information to track players by School and Grade Level (new information on third tab of Player Registration).  The second new tab is for Uniform Information - Player Shirts, Pants, and Hat sizes (new field on Player Registration window) - use this tab to customize the Shirts, Pants, and Hat selections on the Player Registration Window.  The third new tab is for user customizable Division Difficulty Ratings.

Stay tuned for further updates -- many new reports are planned for the new fields, plus a redesign of the Report window to add additional report selection capabilities and user requested reports!!  If there are more reports that you would like to see added, let us know and they will added for the next update!

  3. Added Mailing Label Volunteer Category Selection.  You can also now select the mailing labels for Volunteers by the Volunteer Category that the volunteers have requested.

  4. Modified Team/Field Assignments so that the Field assignments are now done at the Division level.  For the export to Diamond Scheduler, the Fields are now assigned at a Division level rather than a Team level.  Within Diamond Scheduler, you can then specify if a team is not to play on a certain field.

  5. Added enhanced error checking to the import of Diamond Scheduler files.

  6. Fixed minor bugs in the Player Registration screen and Report layouts.

Build 140 - 1/16/2000

  1. Added integration with Diamond Scheduler -- LeagueWorks can now create Diamond Scheduler native files (*.shd) from the data in LeagueWorks!!  Diamond Scheduler will then assist with your scheduling needs based on the data passed by LeagueWorks.  Once you have created a schedule, you can export the schedule information back to LeagueWorks and create all the schedule reports you need.

  2. Added Division, Team, Field, and Master Schedule reports.

  3. Added input constraints to name, address, and other fields to be compatible with Diamond Scheduler.  In order to pass data between LeagueWorks and Diamond Scheduler, some restrictions had to placed on certain input fields.   Division, Team, Field, and Personal name fields, along with addresses and other text fields passed to Diamond Scheduler, now restrict the input of the following special characters - commas, asterisks, and tildes.

  4. Fixed an issue with text labels not displaying properly.  There were instances with certain backgrounds and color schemes where text labels and input field names were not displaying properly.   All windows now inherit the properties as set within Windows Display Settings.

Build 137 - 1/1/2000

  1. Added Division, Team, and Fields reports.

  2. Added a database update module so that changes to the database structure could be made.  The DB update module checks the database every time LeagueWorks is started to make sure it is the current database version.  If it is not the current version, a backup of the database is made and the database structure is modified to bring it up to the current version level.  If the database is the current version, then only a backup of the current database is executed.  Please Note:  No data is changed during the database update routine, only the database structure (table properties and field properties within a table) is modified.

  3. Added a Current Season field to the database.  The Current Season field can be found on the New Season screen (accessed via Tools then New Season on any menu) and also on the Setup and Defaults window (accessed via Tools then Program Preferences on any menu).  For the initial update of the database structure, a Current Season default of 2000 has been entered.

  4. The age calculation on the Player Registration window and Player Reports is now performed using the year entered in the Current Season field in the database (see 3 above).

  5. Found a problem on the Divisions/Teams window and on some reports where some teams were not being displayed if a sponsor had not been assigned to the team.  This has been fixed and the sponsor name is shown as "Sponsor Not Available".

  2. Added Mailing Label generation to the reports.

  1. Added New Season Functionality --  Allows the user to mark players and volunteers inactive along with other options to delete Divisions, Teams, Equipment Assignmentss, Game Results, plus a whole host of other selections!

  3. Fixed Minor Bugs -- Fixed a minor bug when adding a volunteer via the Player Registration process (i.e. marking a player guardian as a volunteer).

Build 133 - 11/7/99

  • Updated Registration Process -- LeagueWorks is now registered on a per-league basis rather than a per-user basis.  You may now distribute LeagueWorks to any number of computers within your league.  You are free to use the software and share the registration code within your league.  You may not, however, share the registration code with anyone outside your league and no person within the league may use the registration code should that person move to a different league. It is a league-owned registration code.

Build 132  -  10/31/99

  1. Fixed a minor bug in the registration process.

  2. Fixed a bug in the Volunteer portion of the Registration Screen.  The bug occurred when a record was updated.  The update was not being displayed in the dropdown list properly, causing a record not found condition to occur.
